Privacy

Privacy

This page explains how Sinaloa.com handles privacy: the cookies it uses, the optional analytics that is turned on only with your consent, and other technical aspects of the site.

Cookies

Sinaloa.com uses two necessary first-party cookies. NEXT_LOCALE stores your language preference (Spanish or English) for up to a year and is used only to show the correct language when you visit the homepage without specifying one. __Host-sinaloa_consent stores your analytics choice (accepted or rejected) for 12 months, so you are not asked again on every visit. Neither is used for advertising.

Only if you accept analytics, Google Analytics also sets its own cookies, _ga and one whose name starts with _ga_ followed by the property identifier, which are used to tell visits apart and expire according to Google’s settings (currently up to two years). If you do not accept, they are not set.

Analytics

Sinaloa.com may use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. Analytics is optional and is turned on only if you accept it: before you choose, or if you reject it, no Google script is loaded, no analytics data is sent and no analytics cookies are set.

If you accept, we measure the pages visited, the language, the type of device and browser, approximate location and how you reached the site (for example, a search engine or a campaign). For searches on the site, we record only that a search happened, together with two approximate ranges that identify no one: the length of the text (1–3, 4–10 or 11 or more characters) and the number of results (0, 1–5 or 6 or more). The text you type is never sent to Google Analytics, whether in full, encrypted or summarised. We do not use analytics for advertising, and advertising signals and Google Signals are turned off.

The data is processed by Google LLC, possibly outside Mexico. As with any internet connection, Google receives your IP address when processing the request; Google Analytics 4 does not store or show it in its reports. Event data is kept for two months and user-level data for fourteen months, under the current settings.

You can change your choice at any time from “Privacy preferences” at the bottom of every page. Turning analytics off stops sending data and removes this site’s analytics cookies from your browser; data already sent is kept for the period stated above. To exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation or objection, write to the address on the Contact page.

Fonts and other technical elements

The site's fonts are prepared when Sinaloa.com is built and served directly from this site, so visiting it does not send requests to Google's servers for fonts. The only exception to the site not loading scripts from other sites is Google Analytics, and only if you accept it (see “Analytics”); apart from that, no scripts, video or content from other sites are loaded automatically, and the only external links are the ones you choose to open, for example when checking a source cited on a page.

Accounts and administration

Sinaloa.com does not offer public user accounts or public sign-in. The site has an internal administration panel for the people who manage its content; it is not a feature intended for site visitors.

Contact

The Contact page includes only an email address; there is no form on the site, so no message is submitted through the Sinaloa.com application. If you write to us, your message is sent using your own email application or service.
